A branch was established in Australia in 1979, which serves as a base for our ministry in the South Pacific, South East Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent.
As the banner in the photo at left says, it was 'Built alone with the help of the Lord who made heaven and earth, by faith in Jesus Christ.'
The Australian branch is located at Theresa Park, NSW, southwest of Sydney. At present, we are twelve Sisters from seven different nations. In addition to celebrations at Christmas, Easter and other church holidays, we hold Days of Fellowship about 5 times a year, and our centre is open daily to visitors and groups.
Weekend conferences are held annually at a nearby retreat centre, and in other states upon request. At our Australian centre we have an interdenominational prayer meeting every week, where we bring the needs of the community to the Lord and give positive prayer support to Christian and community leaders.
Our Sisterhood's ministry is manifold. Love for Jesus constrains us to share His love in every way possible. In our own printshop we produce leaflets, short texts and small booklets that are available for distribution. Such leaflets are also stationed at strategic places like post offices and hospitals, so that people can help themselves.
Written on a variety of topics like reconciliation, faith and prayer, illness, loneliness and growing old, rock music and the occult, they have been a help and encouragement to many.
We are frequently asked to share with churches and fellowship groups both here and abroad about love for Jesus, living in reconciliation, repentance, spiritual warfare, how to become strong for the time of testing, the dangers of New Age and other topics.
One of our Video programmes was filmed in part in Australia and includes scenes with an Aboriginal tribe in the Northern Territory. Entitled CHRISTMAS - A TIME TO FORGIVE, its main theme is reconciliation, and it has been televised nationwide in Australia and overseas, bringing peace and reconciliation into many families and homes. For the Bicentennial, special 60-second spots were produced for telecast, entitled GOD BLESS AUSTRALIA, and these too were televised around the country as a Christian contribution to the Bicentennial celebrations.
THE GARDEN OF JESUS' SUFFERINGS AND HIS RESURRECTION
Depicting the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ in a series of reliefs, our Prayer Garden serves as a reminder of our Saviour's great love for us. It has become a place of prayer and quiet for many.
Visitors' responses:
"There are no words to express my quiet times with Jesus in this Garden and the impact on my life."
" I never really understood about Jesus' Passion until I went through this beautiful Garden today."
"I feel the Lord's presence here! It is hard to leave."
"It gives you a real inward sense of what the Lord has done for you."
"Very few can walk through the Garden without sensing a deep renewal of repentance, and with it the joy of forgiveness, and the victory of the Resurrection. It is a sermon in itself."
You are warmly invited to visit the Prayer Garden (open all day), view some of our films, participate in our daily prayer services at 3.00 pm or attend our Days of Fellowship or celebrations (see the schedule). If possible, please let us know of your visit in advance.
