… but how did it continue?
All over the globe people are suffering, and this includes worldwide persecution of Christians. But God our Father has ways and means of bringing comfort.
It all grew from tiny beginnings – an attic room in the Motherhouse where the first little offset printing press stood. In 1952 the Lord gave us a vision for a “worldwide outreach ministry”. In the course of her lifetime Mother Basilea wrote over 100 titles, and translations have been made into over 60 languages. Encouraging sayings in bookmark format bear the signature “MB” and have been printed in nearly 100 languages, reaching people from a wide range of backgrounds and churches. For many years we produced radio and television programmes in a variety of languages in our own studio. Cassettes and videos (later CDs and DVDs) were sent out in their thousands.
As of the 1960s God led us to open branches in various parts of the world. He wanted us to cast out lifelines of His love into the “stormy seas” of endtime deception, proclaiming His standards and preparing His bride from all nations for the day of His coming. The distinguishing mark each branch strives for is love – love for each other and for the people we are sent to serve.
Plaques with Bible and song verses at places of outstanding beauty remind people of the Creator. They can be found anywhere – from the Grand Canyon to the Himalayas. In the Swiss Alps two little chapels invite passers-by to spend time in worship. “Fear God and give Him the glory” (Revelation 14:7) is the message for our times. Plaques at Holy Places in Israel draw visitors’ attention to biblical events and encourage a personal response.
